Staying alive

As a MSM newspaper, the Washington Post (WaPo) is a bit of an anomaly in that it has never lost sight of the fact that it exists to convey actual information (as opposed to spewing propaganda). I suspect, some of that is the competition for local readers it gets from the Washington Times, but most of it comes from a long history of telling both sides in a town where taking sides is the reason for existence. Further to its credit, WaPo has resisted bias-creep in it news articles.

Its management is astute; they have seen and embraced the future of information conveyance - the Internet and its offspring, blogs. And in line with the policy of presenting both sides, they’ve initiated Red America by Ben Domenech.

I recommend a visit.
